Nomination Contest

MP Jim Eglinski announced in January 2018 that he will not seek another term. Therefore, a nomination contest is needed to select the Conservative Party of Canada's candidate for the 2019 general election in the electoral district of Yellowhead.

The deadlines to apply to be a nomination contestant and to purchase a membership to vote have now passed. 

There are currently five contestants vying for the nomination:

Voting Locations:

  • Voting will take place from October 11 to 13. Click here to read the official notice of voting times and to see identification requirements for voting. Members may vote at any of the six locations setup over three days. To vote, you must be a current member of the Conservative Party of Canada, and have purchased your membership prior to September 20 at 10:00 PM MT, and live in the electoral district of Yellowhead. There is no proxy or advanced voting. To check the status of your membership, call 1-800-808-8407. 

Contestant Forums:

  • Two forums will take place for members to hear from the contestants. The first will be Tuesday October 2nd at the Drayton Valley Legion (5204 51 Ave) beginning at 7:00 PM. The second will be Thursday October 4th at the Red Brick Arts Centre in Edson (4818 7 Ave). All members are invited to attend. Please click here to RSVP so we can plan appropriately for attendance.


  • We're looking for volunteers. We need people to help at each of the polling stations during the vote. If you're able to help be a poll clerk, please click here.
